Internal Expert Peer Review are available to all SLIIDR and LVC faculty. Under this program, the SLIIDR and LVC administration will solicit and organize expert reviews of grant applications. These reviews will be similar to NIH study section reviews in their format, content and stringency. The purpose of these reviews is to go beyond a review of the Aims of a grant, and to delve more deeply into the content and merits of the experiments proposed for each Aim.

          For optimal effect, it is best request an Internal Expert Peer Review at least one month before the grant submission deadline; this will allow the reviewer two weeks to evaluate the proposal and the author two weeks to implement any changes to the proposal.

          A nominal monetary compensation will be provided to Expert Reviewer for each Review (~$200).

          Investigators desiring Internal Expert Peer Review should plan to submit their drafts no later than one month before the grant submission deadline.

This information will be used exclusively to target submitted proposals to the most appropriate Internal Expert.
